Answer - 27+9+3+1 = 40 games
In the first round,27 matches will be played and we’ll be left with 27 winners. (27*3=81). Now consider the next round in which 9 matches will be played. Then 3 matches will be played and then one match will be played to decide the winner.So the total number of matches played will be 27+9+3+1=40
You need to eleminate 80 players, one game is needed to eleminate 2 players ….. total games = 80 / 2 = 40.
Each game eliminates 2 players. You need to eliminate 80 players. So no. of games = 40
answer=27+9+3+1=40;
81/3=27 matches.
then27/3=9;
then9/3=3
then3/3=1;
so the final answer is 40 matches;
81*2 = 162
27*2 = 54
9*2 = 18
3*2 = 6
So total 240 games needed.
